Rosewood London Launches “NFTEA” Collection

Rosewood London is launching its new Art Afternoon Tea , inspired by renowned surrealist artist Salvador Dali. Rosewood London is a luxury five-star hotel housed in a restored Edwardian mansion. The hallmark of the hotel is that it goes out of its way to provide an incredible experience for its customers, who in turn will enjoy exquisite teas and extraordinary pastries. The hotel representatives have gone further to use augmented reality technology to create the first “NFTea” collection that customers can also appreciate.

With the release of the collection, the hotel is making the afternoon tea culture in the UK even better. Rosewood London has combined the amazing pastries of Mark Perkins, the artwork of Salvador Dalí and the technology expertise of SmartMedia Labs to create the best food-based NFT. Starting at £72 per person, customers will be able to enjoy 3 unique cakes.

The “Queen of Hearts” is part of Dali’s “Playing Cards” collection. This work will be embodied on an unusual cake. Mark Perkins explains that this cake consists of peach jelly, almond biscuit and glazed strawberry mousse with chocolate decorations and an edible Queen of Hearts playing card.

The centerpiece of the forthcoming NFTea collection will be Narcissus’s Metamorphoses. The mousse-based confection contains a combination of 5 main components, symbolizing a new beginning.

The collection could not do without Dali’s famous work The Persistence of Memory. It symbolizes freedom, metamorphosis and transformation. The work-based Butterfly Windmill cake comes with a QR code that will allow shoppers to immerse themselves in the AR experience. Buyers will use their phones to catch a butterfly, which will then unlock their own NFTs.

The organizers of the project said it was the perfect end to the NFTea experience, the very first of its kind. A couple of days ago, the hotel held a private exhibition for the media. And starting from yesterday, anyone can enjoy unusual pastries. The project is limited to 2,500 NFT butterflies.
