St. Louis, Missouri-headquartered Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company has filed several Metaverse-related applications with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
The creator of Bud Light intends to create his own metaverse called the Budverse. According to the documents, Budweiser plans to offer non-fungible beer can tokens under the Bud Light brand. It also intends to provide online gaming and art exhibition services in the virtual environment and Metaverse platforms.
Last November, Budweiser released its first-ever digital beer can collection to celebrate the brand’s iconic history. His foray into NFT ended in great success, with the Legacy Collection selling out in just an hour.

At the end of January, Anheuser-Busch announced their new NFT project called “Bud Light N3XT Collection”. In August, Budweiser also acquired the Beer.eth domain for about $95,000 in Ethereum, with the brand’s official Twitter account changing its name to reflect this.
In addition to Budweiser, the legendary brewing company founded back in 1852, owns brands such as Hoegaarden, Shock Top, and LandShark Lager.
It’s worth noting that Anheuser-Busch isn’t the only major brewer to join the metaverse. Last month, Dutch brewing giant Heineken unveiled “non-alcoholic” and “free” virtual beer brewed using peeled pixels in Decentraland, a 3D virtual world powered by Ethereum.
