- An anonymous collector bought Bored Ape #5383 from a popular NFT collection
- Vis.eth paid 777 ETH for the golden monkey token
- High-value purchase stands out amid the shrinking NFT market
The network is actively discussing the acquisition of a token from the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection. One of the golden monkeys went under the hammer for 777 ETH ($1.5 million). It will add to the collection of an anonymous investor hiding under the nickname Vis.eth.
The change of ownership took place on Tuesday evening, August 16th. The seller purchased Bored Ape #5383 a year ago for $242,000. Thanks to this transaction, he received a profit of 682 ETH, which is equivalent to $1.2 million.
Vis.eth, in turn, was pleased with the acquisition, as he had long wanted to get possession of a rare golden monkey. According to CryptoSlam, Bored Ape #5383 ranks 285th in the list of the rarest tokens in the NFT collection. Vis.eth is also known to have a long list of products released by Yuga Labs.
Moreover, despite the general drop in trading volume on the NFT market, an expensive deal was concluded. The industry has seen a painful decline in sales lately. However, Vis.eth is not particularly concerned about this statistic, as he has spent several million dollars buying NFTs over the past few months.
By the way, despite the price of $1.5 million, the gold Bored Ape did not break the record. Ape #8817 is considered the most expensive token from this collection. The token was sold last October for a whopping $3.4 million.
