- Nansen has prepared a report on the NFT industry for the first half of the year
- During this time, almost 29 thousand collections have been created.
- Users spent $2.7 billion per minute
- Half of this money “settled” in the segment
On Tuesday, August 2, the Nansen portal published a report on income and expenditure in NFT projects for the first six months of this year. As it turned out, users spent $2.7 billion on mint tokens, and a little more than half of these funds “ settled ” in the industry.
One thing is for sure – NFT activity remains exceptionally high. According to the report, about a million unique wallets were involved in the mint of new tokens. This indicates that the community still has an interest in this topic.
In total, 963,227 ETH, that is, about $2.7 billion, was spent on the creation of new NFTs. And all this was only for the first six months, from January 1 to June 30.
It is also noteworthy that the share of funds withdrawn from the market after the mint has decreased. If last year it was 52.3%, then this year it is 45.7%. This is the capital that was transferred to third-party wallets after the release of tokens.
More than half of the funds received ” settled ” in projects. This is vital for the further development of the industry. Therefore, an increase in this indicator also indicates a growing interest from users.
In total, nearly 29,000 NFT collections have been created. Of these, 66% raised less than 5 ETH on sales. At the same time, about 140 collections brought the creators 1000 ether and more. The top 5 best projects in this area account for 8.4% of the total mint.
This difference in returns demonstrates the high percentage of small collections driven by a rising demand curve for these products. The crisis may “ thin out ” the sphere, narrowing the gap between leaders and outsiders.
Despite the protracted decline in digital assets, NFTs remain a trendy destination. Previously, we reported on some notable projects in this area that have already entered the market or will appear shortly. For example, the mayor of Miami announced a new collection in honor of the artistic diversity of the city. And Damien Hirst promised to publicly burn almost 5,000 paintings, which he would later replace with tokenized versions.
