The latest DappRadar report showed popular metaverses like Sandbox and Decentraland losing active users despite having a multi-billion dollar market valuation for each.
But each platform spoke out about the metric being misleading. Decentraland explained that the metric does not reflect active users on the platform.
Decentraland agreed that the peak of traffic has fallen since the beginning of March, but now there is a trend where the number of users returning to the site daily continues to grow.
Animoca Brands also disagreed with the data in the report. Yat Siu, co-founder of the platform, added that there are other metrics that more accurately reflect user engagement on the platform. For example, the growing number of users holding in-game assets, NFTs, the number of new employees on the platform, and the amount of revenue generated
