The Representative Of Nissan Spoke About The Company’s Plans For NFT

An unnamed representative of the Nissan Motor concern said that the company’s management sees excellent prospects for development in the non-fungible token (NFT) sector and integration with the metaverse. Nissan will actively go into virtual reality and will not stop at just one project.

He made such a statement a day after Nissan Motor Co., Ltd, Licensing Business Group, became a partner of the new Torque Drift 2 racing franchise. According to the entrepreneur, the Japanese brand is happy to become part of this project and try its hand at the NFT world.

Yesterday, October 26, 2022, the press service of the Animoca Brands studio announced that the Japanese automobile concern Nissan has signed a cooperation agreement with the Torque Drift 2 blockchain game from Grease Monkey Games. Together, the companies will issue the first-ever utilities in the form of non-fungible Nissan NFT tokens.

A subsidiary of Animoca Brands has been negotiating with Nissan Motor Company for a long time and finally managed to sign an agreement. Grease Monkey Games and Nissan will release up to 15 unique Nissan models over the next 12 months. Several variants will be available in Torque Drift 2. Nissan’s first official NFTs will be five variants of the 180SX, including the iconic Sil80, and seven variants of the 370Z, including the 50th Anniversary edition.

Jurvit Goel, Head of Global Gaming Development at Polygon Studios, assured that Nissan’s entry into the Web3 space with Torque Drift 2 represents one of the most exciting and significant implementations of blockchain technology and NFT by a major global brand to date. The collaboration between Grease Monkey Games, Animoca Brands and Nissan will go down in history, with Polygon providing the infrastructure and tools to make the project a reality.

Grease Monkey Games founder and managing director Arran Potter stressed that Nissan is synonymous with drifting and motorsport.
