The Sandbox Metaverse: In-game NFTs

Heard about the Sandbox but are too lazy to figure out how to play? Maybe you would like to know more about game assets and equipment. The Sandbox project differs from its main competitor Decentraland, so this article will interest those who have already visited the most popular metaverses. Go!

Sandbox NFT, an asset, is divided into several main categories designed to diversify the gaming experience. All these assets can be viewed by clicking the MARKET button on the left side of the main panel. Their acquisition is carried out using the native cryptocurrency of the project – SAND.

Avatar

And we’ll start with game avatars! Many custom collections of avatars within the Sandbox platform provide access to an enhanced experience. Among them is a collection of avatars from Snoop Dog. Having tokens from this collection gives you access to private parties in Sandbox with this legendary artist! Another example is the BAYC avatars collection with its benefits. An avatar from the Steve Aoki collection unlocks new utilities and allows you to earn SAND by playing the Sandbox.

Objects

Entities are environmental items and in-game NPCs. The marketplace sells many different .vox models needed to create maps, quests, scenes, and so on.

Assets in this category have exciting characteristics. They have a level (Catalyst) and slots for gems (Gems). The level determines how many slots will be available when creating an asset. Their number ranges from 1 for common to 4 for legendary. There are 5 types of gems themselves: power, defense, magic, speed, and luck.

Equipment

NFTs from this category are needed to complete quests. For example, you will not be able to complete a mission without an NFT sword in your backpack if you need to engage in duels. It is worth noting that the limitations of the game experience that appear in this way are conditional since when passing through many available maps, you can get the necessary items, albeit at a low level.

Art Objects

NFTs from this category are cosmetic items that can take on a variety of formats, shapes, and sizes. It could be a Doge Mona Lisa painting, a hologram, or an alien plant!

Unlike the Entities category, these NFT items do not have stats associated with gems. Interestingly, in this category, there are objects that are many times more expensive than the plots of land on which they should be placed.

Plots of land and real estate

NFT plots of land (LANDs), which can be combined into ESTATEs, secure your land ownership in the Sandbox metaverse. On these sites, you can create your games and monetize them. In addition, these NFTs can be rented or advertised there. The list of available options for monetization is extensive.

It is worth noting that today plots of land are relatively cheap, at least in comparison with the previous 2 years. The bear market is a good reason to think about acquiring land in the metaverse!

Collections

Collections are groups of NFTs from different categories created by the same author. Usually, these collections are owned by famous brands such as Binance, Snoop Dog, Atari, and The Smurfs. In addition to brands, it is impossible not to mention the collections created by previously selected designers for the Creator Fund program.

Creating your own NFTs

In addition to buying assets, you can create them yourself and put them up for sale. This is done using the original VoxEdit editor.

What’s more, using VoxEdit, you can create your own NFTs to sell them outside the Sandbox market. An example is the EGGoSphere collection. By the way, they do giveaways of their eggs on Twitter every day!
