Meta has shared new details of its initiative in the NFT space. Facebook and Instagram users can now connect wallets and exchange tokens.
Users can tag an NFT creator and cross-post between platforms without paying a fee. The feature has been tested since May and is officially available in 100 countries worldwide.
In August, there were final preparations – Meta allowed the placement of user-owned NFTs on the sites and expanded the list of countries to the regions of Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and North and South America.
In addition, the company has implemented third-party wallets such as Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, and Dapper Wallet.
Following the announcement from Meta, many users took to Twitter to express their concerns about the security and privacy of data when connecting third-party wallets. Last year, there was an incident with Facebook user data being leaked. The data of half a billion people got into the hacker community.
Meta did not respond to the concerns and did not rush to explain how data security will be carried out when connecting third-party wallets.
