The Metaverse is no longer limited to games and goes beyond the many daily activities and tasks. In Egypt, the Ministry of Local Development is working to improve the skills of workers in the regions using metaverse technologies .
In the coming days, the ministry will launch a training plan for local residents through 155 courses and workshops. This is 27% more than last year.
The authorities confirmed that the upcoming courses are part of the implementation of the digital transformation plan, as courses on metaverse technologies, artificial intelligence, data analysis, digital teacher training, and others were introduced this year for the first time.
Earlier, the Regional Center for Research on Sustainable Development and Forward Forecasting provided a grant, the funds of which will be used to create a laboratory. It will deal with the application of forward forecasting, with all its devices, equipment and programs that will be used under this plan.
Local government officials will be given lectures on the metaverse. The goal is to improve interaction and understanding with citizens.
Later, virtual environment platforms will be created for the work of the authorities and technology companies of the country. Khaled Kassem, a spokesman for the Ministry of Local Development, confirmed that after assessing the impact of the application, the ministry will discuss the possibility of summarizing the experience and providing it to citizens who wish to continue interacting with authorities through the metaverse.
