- Hacken Cyber Security Experts Verify GameFi Tokens
- Half of them do not follow basic safety rules
- Therefore, future hacks are “just a matter of time.”
Hacken cybersecurity experts warn of future hacks in P2E games. The last report prompted them to such conclusions. They tested 31 GameFi tokens, and the results were disastrous: not a single coin received the highest rating in terms of security. And half of the tokens were given the worst rating by analysts.
“GameFi projects do not follow even the most basic principles of cybersecurity, leaving hackers with a lot of opportunities for attacks,” the report says.
Experts checked the platforms according to various parameters — token audit, bounty program and insurance availability, team publicity, security technologies, etc.
So, out of 31 projects, only 14 received not the lowest rating. And according to the overall results, 5 blockchain games passed a full platform audit for potential exploits. These are the projects of Aavegotchi, The Sandbox, Radio Caca, Alien Worlds and DeFi Kingdoms. None of the games has received the highest level of security.
The biggest DeFi hack in history came in March when the blockchain game Axie Infinity was hit. The amount of damage was $615 million. Surprisingly, an employee of the developer company Sky Mavis became the culprit of the attack. He “bought” a fake job posting and gave access to internal software.
