- India ranked 3rd in Web 3.0 workforce
- Over 75,000 talents now work in the country
- Several Web 3.0 Startups Get Unicorn Status
Analysts at NASSCOM have released a new study on the state of the blockchain industry in India. It turns out that more than 75,000 specialists work here in the field of Web 3.0 – which is 11% of the total in the world. Therefore, India ranked 3rd in terms of the labour force.
More than 450 startups operate in the country, and four Web 3.0 companies have won the status of unicorn (their capitalization exceeded $1 billion). Over 60% of Indian projects have expanded outside the country.
Most startups are working on creating DeFi applications, NFT marketplaces, metaverses, and DAOs. But there are also more specific industries. Blockchain technologies make it possible to modernize healthcare, agriculture, security, finance, education, etc.
By the way, the Indian Police recently introduced a platform for receiving complaints. It runs on the Polygon blockchain.
Experts predict brilliant growth prospects for Web 3.0 in the country. They expect that the number of users of such projects will grow by 150 million.
“India is rapidly embracing new age technologies, growing a startup ecosystem and an army of talented professionals. This strengthens our position in the global Web3 landscape,” summed up the head of NASSCOM Debiani Ghosh.
