Meta Corporation has expanded a pilot project to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into social Instagram to an additional 100 countries.
“Today we are starting an international expansion into 100 countries in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and North and South America. In addition, we now support Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet connectivity, as well as the ability to host digital collectibles issued on the Flow blockchain,” the announcement reads.
Meta launched a pilot project to integrate NFT into Instagram in May 2022. Selected users were allowed to set non-fungible tokens as their profile photo.
As part of the initiative, the social network supports assets on the Ethereum, Polygon and Flow blockchains. Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet and Dapper Wallet wallets are available for connection. In the initial announcement, Meta promised to integrate Phantom, but has yet to do so.
The service does not include commissions.
