In honor of the NFL Draft due April 28-30, the Football League is releasing a collection of 52 NFTs on the Polygon blockchain. Each token is a collectible card dedicated to each NFL team. The launch of the collection in conjunction with the Draft speaks to the league’s desire to delve deeper into the NFT space.
All 52 collectibles are currently on sale on the NFL marketplace, despite the fact that the platform is still in testing, according to its representatives. Since its launch last November, notable results have been achieved. The price of each collectible NFT card is also symbolic – $52.
The new NFT collection is still the start for the NFL in its advancement in the NFT space. She previously created NFL All Day in partnership with NBA Top Shotmaker Dapper Labs. Both Top Shot and All Day are built on the Flow blockchain. However, the football league policy regarding blockchain and its development is still unclear , but in recent weeks there has been movement in the field of fan tokens and cryptocurrencies.
The National Football League Players Association has also taken part in several partnerships related to the cryptocurrency world. For example, partnerships with DraftKings and the Upland metaverse.
Even though the NFL has referred to the upcoming collection as a “virtual commemorative ticket” for the 2022 Draft, the tokens are not actual tickets to live streaming in Las Vegas. Instead, the football league makes others some of its NFTs in the form of event tickets for some fans.
This year, collectible NFTs are expected to be given out to Inner Circle members, including fans selected to represent each team on Draft Night.

The NFL has seen significant success in the NFT space since the launch of its NFL All Day NFT marketplace. The very first NFT tokens from the collection were once sold for $1,000 each, but soon the price dropped to $300-600 for NFT cards of more popular teams.
More than 500,000 ticket-related NFTs have been issued since NFTs entered the market, with 42% of holders interacting with their tokens, according to a league spokesperson. NFL officials added that the league is building on these successes to build something big in the near future.
The NFL Draft is an annual American football event during which football teams recruit new players from the college league. The location of the Draft changes every year – this year, as mentioned above, the 2022 Draft will be held in Las Vegas.
