Studio Warner Bros. Collaborates with blockchain firm Eluvio to digitize The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring as a non-fungible token.
American filmmaker Warner Bros. will release an NFT version of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. This was reported on the official website of the initiative.
The project partner is the blockchain company Eluvio, which will generate two types of NFT tokens: Mystery Edition (10,000 copies) for $30 and Epic Edition (999 copies) for $100. By themselves, NFTs provides a looping screensaver for a movie menu.
The Mystery Edition includes NFT art for the Shire, Rivendell, and the mines of Moria, while the Epic Edition includes all three locations, plus other unique art.

Both collections also provide access to an extended version of the film running at 3 hours and 48 minutes in 4K UHD resolution and “eight hours of additional content.” At the same time, users cannot purchase NFT using their crypto wallet like Trust Wallet. To do this, you will need to download a separate Eluvio wallet. However, support for a third-party wallet is still present; however, at the time of writing, it is limited only to MetaMask. According to the official website, the tokens are also backward compatible with the Ethereum blockchain.
Jessica Schell, Vice President of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, noted in an interview with Variety that the studio will plan further NFT releases in the Lord of the Rings series based on the success of this initiative. NFT tokens for the film and its extended version are already available.
