A technology conference is taking place in Lisbon, at which Yuga Labs CEO Nicole Muniz spoke. She talked about the importance of the security and safety of digital assets, the potential of intellectual property rights, the origins of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and the company’s plans.
One of the journalist’s questions was about the difference between NFT and JPEG images. Muniz explained, using BAYC, CryptoPunks, and Meebits as examples, that NFT transfers ownership. For example, many unique projects have been created on the BAYC ecosystem alone.
Speaking about plans for the Otherside metaverse, Muniz shared that the company is committed to a democratic philosophy of inclusion. Thus, a set of developer tools was created so that everyone can give full play to their imagination by creating something for the metaverse and beyond.
In the end, she shared that the early days of the Internet were silly and fun, but with the advent of Web2, seriousness appeared. Now it’s Web3 time, and the company is looking to bring back the fun.
