Basketball League Sells Its Team For 25 NFTs

It’s about the professional basketball league Big3, which was created by the actor and rapper Ice Cube . The Killer 3s team was sold to a decentralized autonomous organization for 25 NFTs. Here’s what you need to know.

Earlier we wrote that the American rapper and actor Ice Cube created a professional basketball league focused on the web3 space, which included various basketball stars. League games are based on a 3v3 style basketball tournament. During the announcement, the rapper shared a detailed plan that turned out to be a fairy tale for the activities of basketball players and their fans. Today, as the plan slowly begins to materialize, this fairy tale seems quite real.

A decentralized autonomous organization called Degods DAO, built on the Solana network, has reportedly acquired the Killer 3s professional basketball team. The rights to this command were sold for NFT tokens, which have a Fire rarity level of $25,000 per token. NFTs give owners the rights to license Killer 3s, intellectual property (IP), and league-approved merchandise. Degods DAO acquired the Killer 3s team for approximately $625,000 by purchasing all 25 Killer 3s-related NFTs. The decentralized autonomous organization shared the happy news on its Twitter, attaching only a video that said:

“Now let’s win the damn championship.”

Degods DAO follows a string of DAOs buying high-value commodities such as real estate, franchises, NFT collections, and IP rights. For example, one such DAO recently acquired an unreleased Wu-Tang Clan record titled “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin”. Another organization has announced it wants to buy fast food restaurants, and a DAO called “Buy the Broncos DAO” was trying to raise $4 billion to buy the Denver Broncos team. However, there are more crazy ideas and intentions, which, unfortunately or fortunately, failed. We are talking about one DAO that tried to buy an old copy of the US Constitution, but lost the auction.

Degods is a popular Solana NFT project with 397,300 SOL or $37,234,956 sold. The collection has 4.5k owners and the current minimum price is $28,162 or 300.5 SOL.
