Renowned metaverse expert and former Amazon Studios employee Matthew Ball on the July 15 podcast “Conversations With Tyler,” describes his vision for the metaverse and how it intends to change things we know, like dating or even the education system.
“A large-scale and interactive network of virtual worlds with real-time 3D rendering, in which an unlimited number of users can constantly and synchronously reside. Everyone has a unique sense of presence.”
He adds that this place not only allows you to do things that are impossible in real life but also to copy actions from reality. In his latest book, Metaverse: And How It Will Revolutionize Everything, he talks about this in more detail.
Instead of seeing the metaverse as a replacement for the physical world, he emphasized its potential for richer socialization, more natural self-expression, and increasingly interactive content.
He noted that VR and AR devices, contrary to popular belief, are not required to experience the metaverse. The average person will take 15 years or more to integrate into the metaverse.
There will be endless opportunities for education, dating, and play. This is primarily because tasks that may be physically impossible or too expensive in the real world can be solved in a virtual environment with minimal or no cost.
For example, future generations of students can modulate gravity instead of learning physics from textbooks. The virtual environment will change the approach to online dating. This is especially true for those who are wary of going on dates in the real world with strangers. They can use the digital space to interact securely.
