Last year, the founders of the US Grammy Awards announced a partnership with OneOf, a non-fungible token (NFT) platform powered by the Tezos (XTZ) blockchain. This year, the site signed a similar agreement with the Latin Grammy Awards to present the 2022 music awards in Latin America.
Representatives of the organization said it would be an honour for them to honour and glorify Latin American music and its talented creators worldwide. Bringing together the world of her and the fine arts, the NFT Latin GRAMMY 2022 collection will feature themed murals painted by artist Juan “Quetzal” Fuerte.
The Latin Recording Academy in Miami hosts the Latin Grammy Awards. This awards ceremony mainly features music with Spanish and Portuguese lyrics. The event will be broadcast by the American television network Univision, the largest provider of Spanish-language content in the United States.
Juan “Quetzal” Fuerte calls himself the city’s acupuncturist. The artist uses the brush to educate residents about the pain of cities, covering empty walls with colourful, allusive artwork depicting modern life’s ups and downs. The artist began his career in the Mexican city of Morelia, which also hosts his largest work to date, a 72-meter hippo called Fuerza del Trabajador.
On the NFT OneOf platform, collections of non-fungible tokens from artists such as Notorious BIG, Ziggy Marley, The Rolling Stones and Whitney Houston have already been highlighted.
