Sberbank will issue NFTs on its digital financial asset platform, as well as provide individuals with access to the site by the end of the year. The news was shared by Anatoly Popov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Bank, in the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
During the WEF session, Popov confirmed that the platform is being finalized and will be available to individuals in the fourth quarter. After the completion of the testing phase in early October, any legal entity will be able to place, buy and sell tokens to another legal entity.
“Further development of the possibility of access for individuals. The next important step is the emergence of NFTs because we see demand.”
In March 2022, the Central Bank included Sberbank in the register of information system operators that can issue CFAs. The creation, storage, and distribution of such assets will be on the blockchain.
In the summer, Sberbank created the first CFA — SberFactoring tokens with a volume of 1 billion rubles and a placement period of three months.
