The Sony Group recently announced a collaboration with Theta Labs, creator of the Theta blockchain, to release 3D NFTs for its new Spatial Reality Display.
According to Sony, the electronics giant plans to release ten “Tiki Guy” NFTs, not only in 3D but also in 2D. Upcoming tokens are being created for Sony Spatial Reality Display (SRD), a technology that uses augmented reality and 3D enhancements.
The company shared a promo video on its Youtube channel, which also describes in detail how the new technology works:
“Our heritage of cutting-edge visual and spatial realities combines into an incredible optical 3D experience where detailed texture, high contrast, and luminosity combine to create a portal to another world.”
In turn, the executive director of the Sony Group Corporation shared this news, adding: “NFT is a great way to demonstrate the potential of Sony SRD.”

The partnership between Sony and Theta Labs followed Theta Hackathon two weeks ago and the launch of Theta Enterprise Validator Node by Bridgetower Capital.
According to 30-day statistics, THETA has fallen 33.7% since last month in terms of sales volume. Among the 17 blockchains that have issued NFTs, Theta network ranks 14th in sales. Also, $14.74 million worth of NFTs were sold on the Theta network through 1,279 buyers, 1,159 sellers, and 8,165 transactions.
