y00ts is one of the most anticipated new projects in the NFT space. The collection was created by the authors of the DeGods project. According to them, y00ts will be a revolutionary PFP collection.
Very soon everyone can join “y00topia”. The official y00ts Twitter account announced that the collection mint will take place on September 2, 2022.
y00tlist is an integral part of the project. According to the creators, this is a way to manage places in the whitelist. To apply for y00ts, a user must connect their Solana wallet on the project website, verify their account via Twitter, and answer a few questions. Applications are published to ensure full transparency. They can be edited, but after each change, the application is sent to the end of the queue.
What is unique about y00ts? The goal of y00ts is to provide “a sensible version of the copyright and ownership of NFTs”. In other words – y00ts acts like a copyright, but instead of a central authority overseeing the project and its intellectual property (IP) rights, the NFT collection itself will act as the “governing body”. Thus, instead of having a CC0 license or owner-defined intellectual property rights, the y00ts collection acts as a “registry” that will keep track of individuals or groups that are allowed to use NFT intellectual property.
y00ts will act as a “test bed” for this new licensing implementation.
