World’s First Virtual Mall Opens In Mexico

  • Island Shopping Mall project launched yesterday
  • This is an entirely virtual shopping centre with a separate area
  • It already features 80 brands, and the developer plans to attract 800 more
  • You can skimp in this mall through a proprietary application for smartphones

Yesterday, October 27, Mexico officially opened the world’s first shopping center in the metaverse. In the initial stage, about 80 brands will be presented in the shopping center, but the creators expect to attract many more large retailers.

The project was named Island Shopping Mall. Users can already download the branded app from the App Store or Play Market to ” walk ” around the new mall.

In addition to the shopping format, it is almost no different from its analogue prototype. Here are the same shops and boutiques and quite well-known brands.

You can find Momiji, Pai Pai and Victoria’s Secret stores in the Island Shopping Mall. At the same time, the creator of the shopping center said that the company is preparing an agreement with such large companies as Adidas, Nike, Puma, Bershka, Guess, Apple, and Levi.

Later, boutiques of more than 800 brands will appear in the shopping center. And this is not the limit. The virtual format allows you to create an unlimitedly large hall and implement the most daring architectural solutions.

The developer claims that this is not just another trading platform. During the shopping process, users control avatars and can even try on the outfit they like.

The virtual shopping center has an internal currency and other bonuses. They can be exchanged for discount coupons or individual products. Users also have access to promotions directly from the brands themselves.

The developer did not just choose Mexico to launch his project. According to Hellosafe, it is the largest metaverse market in Latin America. More than 13 thousand investors have already invested in it. At the same time, projects on such a scale were previously the prerogative of exclusive billionaires from the UAE. It was here that the world’s first hospital in the metauniverse appeared, and later one of the ministries “moved” into the virtual space.
