Animoca Brands subsidiary Grease Monkey Games has announced a deal with auto parts brand Liberty Walk to integrate non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into Torque Drift 2. The multi-platform video game studio has secured the rights to release licensed NFTs. Developers will create virtual art objects based on genuine parts for sports cars.
Torque Drift 2 is a motorsport game with a drift competition at its core. Both linear and open virtual worlds are currently in development. In other words, the product will support single and multiplayer modes.
The first NFT release in collaboration with Liberty Walk is expected to launch in late 2022. The collection will include some of the manufacturer’s most popular wide-body kits that players can use to customize their cars. In addition, exclusive NFT cars, such as the LB-Super Silhouette S15 SILVIA, will be released.
Initially, the developers of Torque Drift 2 will offer players a demo version, the release of which will be announced before the end of this year. Gamers will have access to two key locations of the game – a garage and a photo booth. This will allow them to customize their vehicles with NFT and showcase them in unique digital spaces.
Additional features and locations such as Crew Creation, Paint Booth, Dynamometer Tuning, Multiplayer Lobbies, Esports Tournaments, and more will only launch in 2023 and 2024, with a full release scheduled for 2025.
