- LG Electronics Introduces NFT Purchase Option Directly Through Smart TVs
- For this, the Art Lab marketplace and the Wallypto crypto wallet were built there.
- The option works on flagship models running webOS 5.0
Korean tech giant LG Electronics has launched its own NFT marketplace on the Hedera blockchain. It’s called LG Art Lab.
Through the platform, customers will be able to buy and sell their art tokens, as well as display them on their smart TV screens.
“We want to bring the art of NFT into every home, every living room,” says LG Vice President Chris Jo.
True, this option will appear only in the latest models based on webOS 5.0 or higher. US customers will be the first to test it.
A digital artist will be able to create his own profile on the marketplace, upload works for preview, publish announcements of new collections, and add a timer to new drops. And, of course, sell your work.
As we have already said, the marketplace works on the Hedera blockchain. And purchases can be made through the Wallypto branded wallet, which the company introduced last Wednesday. To pay, you need to open the wallet on your phone and scan the QR code from the TV.
Samsung has pioneered the integration of NFTs and smart TVs. In March, they started building a Smart TV NFT platform together with Nifty Gateway.
