Information appeared on the official website of the tax service that the customs service of the Russian Federation will carry out electronic powers of attorney through the blockchain.
According to the information, this initiative should speed up the decision-making process by the customs authority regarding foreign trade operations. In case of successful completion of the joint experiment, the customs service will fully automate the process of signing electronic documents. The results should be in by the end of this year.
The tax service began looking for blockchain applications back in 2020. Then this issue was discussed by the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, which considered the technology in the framework of banking, emphasizing that the blockchain can eliminate the risks of inaccurate and irrelevant information about the client.
Then in 2021, Daniil Egorov, the head of the FTS, said that with the help of the blockchain, they could create a system that could replace and simplify the electronic circulation of powers of attorney. It can also save customers from bureaucracy.
